About Erica

Erica Mills is a Canadian painter whose work explores resilience, beauty, and the human experience. A graduate of Unionville High School's Visual Arts program, she went on to study Kinesiology at Acadia University with a minor in Visual Art — a pairing that quietly informs the way she thinks about energy, the body, and emotion in her work.

Erica's life has been shaped as much by place as by practice. While her husband pursued a professional hockey career in Russia, Sweden, and France, that time abroad gave her the space and freedom to create openly — immersions in vastly different cultures that sharpened her eye and deepened her creative sensibility. Extensive travel with her three sons, most recently to Vietnam, South Korea, and Panama, continues to feed that curiosity.

For nearly two decades she channelled her visual instincts into a thriving illustration and greeting card company, founded in 2004 and run until 2020. That same year, she stepped fully into fine art, developing an ongoing series of paintings with a distinctly inspirational charge. Her work has since been shown in Milan, Chicago, Toronto, and London.
